Well obviously I haven't written my blog since April which is quite embarrassing. But the truth is the time has gone so fast that it is hard to even realise that I legitimately got only 2 months to go.. It's scary.. It's like driving on a highway and all of a sudden a tall brick wall appears in front of you and you crash.. That is probably the best way to describe how I'm feeling. It was different to leave from Finland cause I knew that I will meet my family and friends again in 10 months NO WORRIES! But when I leave from Australia I don't have any idea when I'm coming back or will I even come back and if I do everything has changed so much.. It's not like I'll be back in few months.. Mate I wish I was back in few months!! But I might be back in several years which means everybody has moved forward.. Most of my friends have gone to uni or tafe and might not be living in the same area anymore.. I wish the things would stay in the way they are now.
Well let's get to the good stuff now.. That made me feel so depressed to be honest. Well anyway the has gone fast! It feels like my life is on fast forward and it sucks. I wish I could slow down but I just can't, I'M SERIOUSLY ENJOYING TOO MUCH!! My life couldn't be any better right now! I've again met so much new people in the past months. I've got a lot of new friends and the best thing is they are not from the same group. What I love about Australians is how they all enjoy their lives! Parties are probably the best thing over here! I've never been such of a party animal. I used to be the quiet one sitting in the corner watching other people having fun but Australia has definitely changed me.
During this time I've gained so much more self-confident! I've been able to do things that I thought I'd never be able to do. Presenting something in front of an audience is probably everyone's biggest fear. Now it's no biggie for me. I've also noticed that I've become more social around people. Before I came over here I was a bit afraid of 'socially awkward' moments and by that I mean moments when I don't know what to say or when I don't know how to start a conversation. I've definitely grown as a person!
Studying the subjects that I'm not able to study in Finland such as drama especially, has given me a thought of getting into the entertainment industry. I didn't know how passionate I am about acting before I came over here. I don't know how good I am but I would consider myself as an average actor, considered I've never ever done or studied acting in my entire life. I went to this Drama Tour with our school's drama troupe and we got some useful advices for the future from the workshops that we did.
But to be honest (this might sound like I'm the most boring exchange student in the history of exchange students) I don't have anything massive and incredible to write about. I'm not on a holiday. I'm living here, I am living my life! I'm doing basic everyday things that everybody does: I do my school work, chill with my friends, go to the parties and just enjoy every day!! I know there are exchange students who do all these 'amazing' unforgettable things during their year but hey living in Australia is unforgettable thing for me. I don't have to have 'YOLO' moments all the time so I can write about them to my blog and try to make my friends jealous and amazed. I'M HAVING YOLO TIME EVERYDAY but some of you might not see it in that way, especially Australians because it is your life that you've used to.
The question that I've got so many times that I can't even count is ''So why did you choose Morayfield State High out of all of the schools in Australia?'' well first of all I didn't choose to study in Morayfield State High but even after all bad comments that you've given me of our school I am glad that they put me to Morayfield State High! It might not be the best school in Australia but I'm enjoying it and that is enough for me.
My love for Gold Coast is out of control. Would I live there? HELL YES!!! I'm hoping to have a future around Brissy and Gold Coast! I've found my paradise, I've found the right place for me.
So upcoming events. Well on Sunday (22.9) I will fly out to Alice Springs where I will have this Northern Territory safari adventure trip with other WEP exchange students all over Australia. Looking forward for that! For drama we're doing couple performances in Dance Night, keen for that as well!
I also added some photos to the end.
As cheesy as it might sound I think it is the best way to end:
Don't count the days, make the days count!!!!
Cheers,
Markus
